The mission of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) is to provide for the socio-economic betterment of the greater Latino community of California, while preserving the pride, values and heritage of the Mexican American culture. This is acconplished through programs in early childhood education and family services, job training and lifestyle development throughout the multi-cultural communities served by MAOF.
Melinda also serves as a board member of a youth organization that promotes exercise and a positive outlet for children.
The Xtreme Youth Football & Cheer League is dedicated to providing the children of our community with a viable alternative to the negative influences that too often prey on our youth. We strongly believe that youth sports provide a great opportunity for families to bond with one another while participative in a positive and exciting environment.
Melinda was the KeyNote Speaker at the Soroptimist International Oxnard Chapter on April 29, 2008.
